Looking Out For Her
The Furnishing Service uplift and recycle products that we’re replacing, a result of which has diverted more than 400 tons of product from landfill since 2013. We recycle 100% of our waste.
It is a key policy to use the minimum amount of packaging on the products we supply. All packaging will be removed on site and placed in our compactor for recycling. All packaging and product containers are recycled; no waste products will go to landfill. We offer a furniture and white goods disposal service to our clients. All uplifted goods will be returned to nearest TFS branch and stored for recycling charities or delivered directly to them if requested. Our local recycling partners will clean and repair the goods and then resell them. Any products that are not in a good enough condition for resale will be broken down for spare parts or recycled making sure that nothing is dumped or wasted. Recycling includes turning waste into Refuse Derived Fuel and underlay for carpets.
We also insist our supply chain conforms to and meets the highest environmentally friendly practices. Suppliers’ environmental practices are audited annually to ensure they remain compliant. We use our relationships with our suppliers to ensure that those we work with operate ethically and responsibly. Our aim is to supply goods that are the most environmentally friendly possible in terms of manufacture and life cycle. We set standards ensuring our suppliers reduce and minimise their carbon footprint not just in relation to the manufacturing process but also relating to packaging, transport and the delivery process. All our suppliers have environmental policies. TFS work to actively reduce our supplier’s carbon footprint by buying in container loads and by using local suppliers where possible. We are fully compliant with the Waste Scotland regulations.
